Our Story

The story of Clifton Meats is one of Barbadian pride and a vision that extends far beyond “business as usual.” The concept was rooted in supporting local farmers and bringing a world class range of meat products to Barbadian consumers.

Founded in 2016 on the 246-acre Clifton Plantation, known to most as “The Farm” Clifton Meats set out on a mission to provide the local market with a superior quality, and most importantly, locally sourced, and manufactured range of sausages, bacon, fresh grass-fed Angus beef, pork and lamb.

Almost immediately, the Clifton brand became known and trusted for consistently delivering on the promise of bringing the best of the farm to the people.

Soon after, Clifton Meats expanded into the wholesale industry providing high quality meats such as: beef, pork, lamb and seafood to local restaurants, hotels and docked cruise ships. As the brand grew, so did the demand and in 2019, Clifton Market opened its doors with a goal to provide an expanded selection of superior quality products to everyday consumers, many of which had never been available before in Barbados.

Today, Clifton Market cannot be defined as merely a supermarket or grocery store. It is the home of Clifton Meats and a unique shopping experience for every type of Foodie.
